we have a winner!

Happy Monday, All!

Hope you had a good holiday weekend.

Thanks to everyone who cruised by, read my Balloons Over Broadway review/chat with Melissa Sweet and left a comment! It was nice hearing your enthusiasm not only for the book, but for the Macy’s Parade itself, which is as much a part of Thanksgiving as turkey and pumpkin pie.

To avoid a full-out bear kerfuffle, we once again resorted to the rather impersonal but highly efficient Random Integer Generator to pick our winner. Every comment was numbered, then tossed into the generator 3 times for good luck (hat tip to those of you who Tweeted and shared on FB).

Okay, are you ready? I’m pleased to announce that the winner of truly one of the best picture books of 2011 is:

Compliments of Happi House Teriyaki Restaurants

NO, NO NO, not Drumstick, DrumROLL! (Why does this always happen?)

One more time.

The winner is:

*cartwheels* *backflips* *hand springs*

Linda, please send me your mailing address so we can get the book out to you right away.

As an extra special thank you to everyone who entered, here are some Spongebob Squarepants cupcakes,

Spongebob Red Velvet Cupcakes by Animated Cupcakes

and Hello Kitty cookies:

Hello Kitty Cupcakes by Little Sweeties Cupcakes

Both of these characters will have their own giant balloons in this year’s parade!

I can’t wait to watch it this year. After reading about Tony Sarg, I will definitely view the parade differently. Now, it just means so much more. ☺

Thanks again, everyone! Enjoy the parade!!

  1. Jama, thanks for the great contest .. and drumroll.. and cupcakes. I’m eagerly awaiting the book that I ordered, thanks to your glowing recommendation, not to mention all the pictures!

  2. Yahoo!!!! I love Melissa’s work, and this book looks as brilliant as the rest. I’m thrilled to have my own copy. Thank you!!

Next time, Jama, would you please post a video of yourself doing those backflips and handsprings? I’d really like to see that . . .
