sunday bear: khalil gibran

“Becky” by Hillary Hulen (yellow distressed mohair, antique embroidered bib, 1989)

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

(Khalil Gibran)

♥ Your Sunday Bear Hug is brought to you by Mr. Cornelius, who would be happy to wish you a very Good Morning, but he’s not up yet. Pass the cinnamon rolls and talk amongst yourselves.

  1. Love your Hadley Pottery! When I was in law school, I lived in a carriage house apartment which was the site of Mary Alice Hadley’s original studio. And a happy Sunday to you as well.

    1. Really? That’s SO cool, Michelle! You’re the only person who’s ever recognized this set by name. Do you collect Hadley stuff?

      1. I guess you could say so—I registered for it as a bride a zillion years ago and have picked up some pieces along the way. I don’t use it as much as I should, but lately have been trying to remedy that.

  2. This bear, at breakfast, is so cute! I love Khalil Gibram and remember discovering him as a teenager; I was in love with the words! Thanks Jama!

  3. My favorite Gibran lines are probably:

But let there be spaces in your togetherness
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you

    From The Prophet.

  4. I’m going to carry this lovely Sunday encouragement over into today’s Monday and beyond.

“For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.” If that doesn’t appeal to my haiku sensibilities, I don’t know what does!

Thank you for the refreshment, Jama! You and Mr. Cornelius have a great week, and tell “Becky” thanks for rising early to share Kahlil Gibran yesterday.
