Why yes. It’s time once again to risk life and limb to select the winners of our Apple Pie 4th of July Summer Giveaway.
As some of you may know, last time we nearly avoided any semblance of monkey business, riots in the ranks, or tetchy tampering with contest results.
Nearly.
Determined to avoid yet another fiasco involving false mustaches, Groucho Marx impersonations, or twitchy dowsing rods gone amok, we sent an urgent missive to the ever steady and reliable Mr. Random Integer Generator, who, after a brief sojourn in the French Riviera, Peugeoted himself across the border and is, at this very moment, relaxing in Tuscany with a glass of Chianti, pecorino, and summer-glorious panzanella.
Though decidedly in picnic mode, Signor Generator graciously accommodated our pleas bribes humble request to help us pick three lucky winners.
“Tre?” he said, waving his hands. “Why not cinque? Janet and Margaret are at least five times more delicious than Mama’s Panforte di Sienna!”
Who are we to argue with Signor Generator (who besides being a mathematical genius, is generous to a fault)? So, five it is!
I should mention that while S. Generator was busy ciphering, we kept the furry kitchen helpers distracted with some of the yummy Independence Day foods cited by the entrants. Let’s go five for five:

Hurrah! To see my name on a Chinese take-out box is the best start to the week, Jama. And to think it’s a signed book by Janet Wong is even better. It does look like a delicious book, so I thank you both (Mr. Random too)! The food pictures are an added delight.
