    1. You didn’t recognize Paul McCartney? That seems very wrong. Have you seen the old version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder? Hmmm, I haven’t seen “Love’s Sweet Song.” I don’t think Hugh Grant was in it, though.

  1. What a great post to read while drinking my morning cuppa. There’s something about the juxtaposition of Bob Marley and Peter Sellers that made me smile (I’m imagining Bob Marley in a Pink Panthers movie…) And look at that young Marlon Brando (at first glance he reminded me of Jason Segal-who wouldathunk?)
I have no idea who your famous Brit was, but I hope you shared a cup of tea.

    1. These old photos are such fun to look at, but they remind me of how old I am since I actually remember most of them from films, etc. Sorry to say I didn’t share a cuppa with that British chap; iced tea might have been more appropriate since he was at the beach.๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hmmm…it appears there is at least one ‘real man’;missing from this distinguished list.

    But enough about me… ๐Ÿ˜‰

By the way, that’s a young Alan Rickman! Is that from the Barchester Chronicles? Looks too young to be Col. Brandon!

    1. Please excuse the serious oversight — good to know you’re a tea drinker๐Ÿ™‚.

I don’t know what role AR was playing in that photo. I don’t think I remember seeing him in any movies when he was that young. I think he looks handsomer now.

    1. Nope, not Pierce! It was Davy Jones. He and the other Monkees were on the beach behind their hotel in Waikiki, when my friends and I spotted them.๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Cool! He seems personable. Was Davy your favorite?
I just asked my younger daughter if she could identify the tea drinkers and she knew Paul McCartney, “Snape,” David Bowie (because of Labyrinth), Mick Jagger, Jack Lemmon (because of Some Like It Hot), Hugh Grant. She sort of recognized Peter Sellers, and she would have known John Lennon if he’d been face-on.

      2. Did you know David Bowie changed his name because there was an already too famous David Jones? It must have been cool to have tea with a Monkee though I would have preferred a Spider (from Mars).

  3. 1. I missed two – David Bowie and Richard Harris (who I actually thought was Hugh Hefner…I know, I know, but look at that photo – it looks like a young Hugh Hefner. 2. Gad, how old is Al Pacino there. Maybe 20??? 3. Dibs on #5.
