Maybe real men drink something else once they get older :). . . .

Love this! I can’t wait to find out which one you actually met. I’ll die of jealousy, whichever one it is. Except maybe for Dean Martin. 🙂
Waiting for the story!

Hint: he has a British accent. 🙂

Makes me wanna drink TEA!
It was Macca, right?

Nope, not Macca. Sigh . . .

LOVE THIS! Made my morning…definitely warmed me up–well maybe not so much Dino in the tiara, or Alfred, but okay, the rest of them for sure–thanks, Jama!

Glad most of them brought some warmth to your morning, Sharon. Wouldn’t want you to get overheated, after all . . .:)

Hmm… Nope. Guessed none. But, did Hugh Grant play as Young Indiana Jones in “Love’s Sweet Song”? 🙂

You didn’t recognize Paul McCartney? That seems very wrong. Have you seen the old version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder? Hmmm, I haven’t seen “Love’s Sweet Song.” I don’t think Hugh Grant was in it, though.

Well, I knew Mr. McCartney looked familiar, but I couldn’t place him. 😦 I have seen the older Willy Wonka – when I was 8. 🙂

What a great post to read while drinking my morning cuppa. There’s something about the juxtaposition of Bob Marley and Peter Sellers that made me smile (I’m imagining Bob Marley in a Pink Panthers movie…) And look at that young Marlon Brando (at first glance he reminded me of Jason Segal-who wouldathunk?)
I have no idea who your famous Brit was, but I hope you shared a cup of tea.

These old photos are such fun to look at, but they remind me of how old I am since I actually remember most of them from films, etc. Sorry to say I didn’t share a cuppa with that British chap; iced tea might have been more appropriate since he was at the beach. 🙂

Hmmm…it appears there is at least one ‘real man’;missing from this distinguished list.
But enough about me… 😉
By the way, that’s a young Alan Rickman! Is that from the Barchester Chronicles? Looks too young to be Col. Brandon!

Please excuse the serious oversight — good to know you’re a tea drinker :).
I don’t know what role AR was playing in that photo. I don’t think I remember seeing him in any movies when he was that young. I think he looks handsomer now.

Barchester Chronicles was a period TV series on the Beeb back in the early ’80’s…I did a quick search of images and sure enough, that’s where it’s from! He shows up at about :42! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcwNdUkNCik

Wow, you’re a great detective! Love that clip — it begins with them having tea! Thanks for finding it!

Another great one! Love this. I would have gotten all of them (even the young “Snape” Alan Rickman!), but I didn’t recognize David Bowie, of all people!

I didn’t know it was him at first either. Love the tea kettle :).

The only one I didn’t recognize was Richard Harris. Are you going to tell us who you met? I’ll guess Pierce Brosnan.

Nope, not Pierce! It was Davy Jones. He and the other Monkees were on the beach behind their hotel in Waikiki, when my friends and I spotted them. 🙂

Cool! He seems personable. Was Davy your favorite?
I just asked my younger daughter if she could identify the tea drinkers and she knew Paul McCartney, “Snape,” David Bowie (because of Labyrinth), Mick Jagger, Jack Lemmon (because of Some Like It Hot), Hugh Grant. She sort of recognized Peter Sellers, and she would have known John Lennon if he’d been face-on.

Did you know David Bowie changed his name because there was an already too famous David Jones? It must have been cool to have tea with a Monkee though I would have preferred a Spider (from Mars).

Peter Tork was my favorite, but Davy was second.
Your daughter did pretty well — Jack Lemmon was a tough one. 🙂

Didn’t know that about David Bowie. Who was the “too famous David Jones”?

1. I missed two – David Bowie and Richard Harris (who I actually thought was Hugh Hefner…I know, I know, but look at that photo – it looks like a young Hugh Hefner. 2. Gad, how old is Al Pacino there. Maybe 20??? 3. Dibs on #5.
