veterans, thank you for your service

Today I’m thinking about my mom and favorite veteran, Margaret Yang Kim.

These photos were found in her files after she passed away in April. She served in the Women’s Army Corps during WWII.

    I like the “Keep Off” one so very much. The completely innocent expression tells me somewhat about how you got your sense of humor. ☺

    Hugs to you today.

  2. I missed your Memorial Day tribute and was so happy to read it here. I always love more photos of your gorgeous, brave mother (who you look like), but her story is incredible, one of many women who served, but when it’s your mother, well . . . please run this story every Veteran’s Day. I want to read it again.

    My husband is also a Vet–served during the Korean War, but was stationed in France. Only Frank would wind up near Paris where he rode a bike down to the village to get fresh baked French bread every morning. Such hardship duty!

  3. Wow – I’m sure these pictures make you so proud! And so much personality shines through. Thanks for sharing your treasures, Jama. (And thinking of you as the holidays roll around.) {[hugs}}
