☕ CUPPA OF CHOICE: Coffee. I also love tea, but a cup of coffee gets me going in the morning. I’m not a morning person, but I am a dad of kids who are morning people and husband to wife who’s morning people too. Therefore, coffee is essential. I use a French press for my daily AM coffee routine. It may sound fancy schmancy, but I’m no coffee freak or purist or anything. I’m the sole coffee drinker in the house and this is really the simplest form of delivery for basically one cup a day. And no filters, man!

☕ FAVE FOODIE CHILDREN’S BOOK: I’m a big fan of HEY, PANCAKES! by Tamson Weston and Stephen Gammell (Silver Whistle, 2003). It’s a family favorite, actually. Great, fun story and great, fun art. We’ve used the recipe in the back many times. Every time you read it, you’re guaranteed a serious craving for some pancakes!

Awww – First Grade Dropout looks like one I’ll have to find – the nephew would enjoy that – he’s at that stage where coming to grips with all the emotions learning brings up would amuse him.

I really like Matthew’s work…and now I know why: he’s a bit of a non-conformist, judging by the Descendants mug! (They were a punk band back in the ’80’s – we played everything they recorded when I was in college radio). And yes, the French press is awesome – it’s all we use here because it’s so easy and it really DOES provide a better cuppa Joe!

Another member of the French press club! Oui, oui!! My mom used the coffee grounds for plant fertilizer. She had quite a green thumb. 🙂

I’m intrigued by Matthew’s new titles- especially First Grade Dropout. Should be hilarious! And we use French press here as well- and I must use the grinds for fertilizer!
