☕ CUPPA OF CHOICE: My wife and I are dedicated francophiles: French toast, French fries, and of course, my beloved French Press. Oooo-la-la!

☕ FAVE FOODIE CHILDREN’S BOOKS: Well, I’ll always have a fondness for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs because my son, now 29, loved that book. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, of course. And who doesn’t shiver when she is offered a piece of Turkish Delight?

☕☕ JUST ONE MORE SIP: Enjoy a poem from David’s forthcoming poetry book, In the Past.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Rest in Peace,
Old Meat-eater.
No list would
be complete
without you.
Tyrant! King!
You thought
(if you could think)
you’d live forever.
The great T. Rex
would never die!

But even kings
are vanquished
when stars fall
from the sky.

    1. Love that series too, Linda. I first learned about David’s books when I was a Cybils poetry judge and On the Farm was one of the books we were reading for the final round. Blown away then, and have been a fan ever since.

      1. Odd story: since we live in the same town, David and I see each other semi-regularly, and a few years ago learned that – through an odd twist of coincidence – each of us had been inside the others’ house before we had moved into our respective houses! Talk about your small worlds.

  3. ON THE WING looks like a beautiful book. Orq is so cute, and somehow I’d missed this hoTEA’s non caveman books, so this is great. Also, that poem is just so gorgeous I can forgive him for the coffee! Thanks for giving us a deeper look at another writer!
