happy blue day, america!

Hooray Hooray Hooray!

For the past four years, we thought, dreamed, and believed in blue. This week, after we voted for blue, it finally came through.

Congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris for prevailing in a historic election.

What a relief (maybe we’ll be able to sleep at night again?)!

And now, chocolate chip ice cream for everyone!

    1. I was comparing today to how devastating it was 4 years ago when we learned Trump had won. I sensed we were in for a hard time, but couldn’t have imagined just how terrible and destructive he could be.

    1. Yes, I revel in Kamala’s historic achievement too. Just as Biden is the perfect President for this moment in time, Kamala is the perfect Vice President. Enjoy your blueberry crumble; I agree — today is for celebrating; there will be lots of time to worry about what will happen during the transition period.

  1. I was out walking this morning and heard a woman say that she could finally breathe. I turned around because I thought she was taking off her mask. She was standing and crying at her phone. I got a text from a friend as I was pulling out my phone to check the news.

I’ve been bawling and laughing all day~sometimes simultaneously!! I know there’s a lot to be fixed, but I exhaled for the first time in four years.

  2. I am SO happy and relieved and thankful. It wasn’t everything, but it was enough for now. And, yes, I do think my sleep will be vastly improved. Imagine not waking up in the middle of the night thinking about this president and the damage he wreaks on a daily basis. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. Hooray, hooray, hooray!!!!

    1. It’ll be tough going with half the country still firmly buying into 45’s lies. The upcoming Georgia Senate run-offs are so critical — otherwise MM will continue to obstruct/stonewall any House generated legislation.

  3. How did I miss this yesterday? I guess because I was on the phone with so many family members & friends! I was/am still so very excited and relieved. Thank you for bringing this celebration to all of us, Jama.
