“Writing has laws of perspective, of light and shade just as painting does, or music. If you are born knowing them, fine. If not, learn them. Then rearrange the rules to suit yourself.” ~Truman Capote (1924-1984)
I love that quote :o)
It reminds me what Raymond Chandler once said of F. Scott Fitzgerald: “It’s not a matter of pretty writing or clear style. It’s a kind of subdued magic, controlled and exquisite, the sort of thing you get from good string quartettes.”
GREAT Quote!

Love the Chandler quote (and love Fitzgerald too)! “Subdued magic, controlled and exquisite.” Beautifully stated.
