I can’t remember exactly where I spotted this raspberry jam jar bag. But it was love at first sight.
I heard that familiar siren call — look at me, marvel at my beauty, find out who made me.
Well, this delightful piece was created by Lyuba and Max of KruKruStudio out of Moscow, Russia. They teamed up in early 2011 and began selling their wares in local handmade stores before opening their Etsy shop several months later.
Their unique collection includes technical objects, musical instruments, animals, books, and geeky/iconic objects made from high quality Spanish felt or genuine leather.
They first sketch their designs, make models from foam or cardboard, then sew patterns on a conventional sewing machine. It’s quite a feat creating a three dimensional object with enough detail to make it recognizable yet still functional as a handbag or backpack.
Both Lyuba and Max like to play and experiment; their objective is to create “bright emotions” and lift the spirits in a world that is often too rushed and stressed to notice the small simple things. Many of these familiar objects take us right back to happy childhood days, when we might have gotten excited to see a plane fly overhead, or fiddled for hours with a Rubik’s cube.
Of course I especially love the book bags — these, like the other pieces, are made to order and come in various colors. You can also request any title or author in any language you want.
Though the banana and carrot bags make me just as happy as the jam jars, I was thrilled to see they also make a teapot!
This Alice in Wonderland-inspired House of Playing Cards is just too cool,
and this violin is exquisite!
Dr. Who fans will swoon over their TARDIS pieces!
There’s only one problem: how does one choose from so many great designs?
If you’re planning on holiday gifts, give yourself plenty of lead time. The bags take about 7-10 days to make, then shipping can take a couple of weeks. Good things are always worth waiting for. 🙂

OMG. How would you pick just one? I love soooooo many of these! I need to win the lottery (well, I guess I have to play it first) and buy myself a baker’s dozen: London, animals, musical instruments, books, jam jars! Yes, please.

It’s impossible to pick just one. I think we both need a different bag for each day of the week. We’d better start buying lottery tickets for sure. 🙂

These are AMAZING! I think I’ve narrowed down my favorites to the guitar and the Jane Austen book, but the idea of putting my own book covers on a bag is fun, too. I’ll be checking out the shop!

Excellent choices! I think the Austen book is one of their most popular sellers. One would have to be tall enough to carry the guitar bag, so that leaves me out . . .

Oh, where that darling jam jar bag led you! The only question is, how many bags can one have?

Well now, is it actually possible to have too many bags? That would be like asking if one could have too many bears, or too many teapots . . . or too many books. 🙂 I think you need a delicious BLUE bag of some kind.

I love all the British themed bags especially. I’m not a big Dr. Who fan, but the tardis stuff is definitely cool.
