hotTEA of the week: bradley cooper

“I seriously love to cook . . . My grandmother was an amazing cook. As a kid, I used to help her make handmade pasta, Cavatelli and Ravioli. It was one of my favorite things to do. I love the idea of making whatever is in the fridge into something.”

Hubba Hubba.

hotTEA of the week: robert redford

Boy is it cold . . . and we know full well there is only one sure-fire way to warm up.

Yes, dear friends, the hotTEAs are back!

Feel free to sigh, swoon, and drool to your heart’s content.

“Health food may be good for the conscience but Oreos taste a hell of a lot better.”

I once saw Mr. Redford breeze by in an off-white linen suit at the Salt Lake City airport — carrying a nifty leather briefcase. What’s not to love about the sandy hair, the ski tan, the little bumps on his face? I’ve never been the same since.

My fave Redford roles: Sundance Kid, Paul Bratter (“Barefoot in the Park”), Hubbell Gardiner (“The Way We Were”), Jay Gatsby.

Is it hot in here, or is it just me? 🙂

Look for a new HotTEA every week.

Better put on your oven mitts.

friday feast: guess who’s looking at you?

On this brisk and beautiful autumn day, a little feast for the eyes. Ladies, brace yourselves.

THE LOOK
by Sara Teasdale

Strephon kissed me in the spring,
Robin in the fall,
But Colin only looked at me
And never kissed at all.

Strephon’s kiss was lost in jest,
Robin’s lost in play,
But the kiss in Colin’s eyes
Haunts me night and day.

I love this little gem by Sara Teasdale. It’s light, lyrical, flirty, and touches on the essence of romance. I am reminded of Charlotte Brontë, whose primary literary theme was unrequited love. The “what might have been’s” and the fantasies surrounding an idealized love often make for a better story with its inherent longing and suspense, setting the stage for a good old-fashioned chase.

The question now is, has anyone ever given you “the look”?

While you’re pondering that, let’s look some more at Mr. Firth looking at us. Put your bibs on to catch all the drool. 🙂

Wouldn’t it be fun to taste Betty White’s cake, Lucy’s pot roast or Joan Crawford’s pie? I especially love the pics of Shirley Temple, Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Wood (didn’t realize Shirley was a leftie). And I love the old stoves.

Paul and Joanne look so “normal,” and who would have thought a former Prime Minister did her own washing up?  Hmm, Robert Mitchum can wash my dishes any time. 🙂

HAPPY MONDAY!!
