we have two winners in the operation yes book giveaway!

Deep dark 30 (thirty minutes past midnight): Cornelius fast asleep.

When reveille sounds at first light, Little Green Army Men report for duty.

Their mission: Rescue two bloggers from Celadon Crater.

This was no bucket of steam, and a brave new recruit volunteers to parachute right into the jaws of death ocean of folded names.

Braving ocean swells, enduring numerous paper cuts, and yes, even going for at least five seconds without texting or tweeting, the NR finally pulls two beauty queens to safety.

Congratulations, Marjorie and Jeannine! We salute you!!

Please send me your snail mail addresses and personalization info so I can get your copies of Operation Yes to you pronto: readermail (at) jamakimrattigan (dot com).

And boku thanks to everyone for entering the giveaway. I truly loved reading about all your teachers. Every one of them is a hero.

Remember, even if you can’t attend Sara Lewis Holmes’s booksigning on Sunday, you can pre-order a copy from Hooray for Books. Sara will personalize it, and the store can either hold it for later pick-up or mail it to you. Sara’s donating $1 for every book sold at this signing to MusiCorps, a wonderful way to honor our veterans.

  1. YAY!

Oh my – I was so thrilled to see my name…and then my livejournal friend Jeannine’s name, too! How fortunate and lucky we are. 🙂 Please tell the little green Army guy who risked everything and parachuted in to pull out my name that I appreciate his bravery!

OPERATION YES is a wonderful novel and would make a great gift for any mid-grade reader. Although the families who are moving in and out of the school in this book are are in the service, I have many transient students due to poverty. The themes in the book are so heartwarming and the lessons are ones we all need to hear. I’ve already convinced two of my colleagues to order them for kids for Christmas presents.

I am going to use this novel as an incentive in my classroom – my students will be so thrilled today when I show them your blog. I will also link my parent email through to it as well.

Thanks for offering this contest! You have made this teacher – and one 7th grade student – very happy.

Off to send you my address! THANKS AGAIN!!

You’re very welcome, Marjorie. Thanks again for entering the giveaway! How exciting it will be to share this book with your class. I imagine you’ll be doing improv with them — and have you seen the new Teacher’s Guide at the OY website? Fabulous ideas. 🙂
